Robert is an actor and YouTuber. As an actor he has been performing ever since hewas 7, when he first sang songs from The Happy Prince in cabaret, and hasgrown up with the role of The Swallow, which he has played twice at theEdinburgh Fringe, at the Sevenoaks Festival, the 10th International Dublin
Gay Theatre Festival and Bridewell Theatre London.
Robert has played his great-grandfather David Maxwell Fyfe in Dreams of Peace and Freedom since its premier in Westminster 2013. He performed throughout the 2014 Edinburgh Fringe and during the 2015 Big Year for Freedom. In addition he appears in films following the project at www.kilmuirpapers.org, sang the treble solo for Casson’s setting ofRupert Brooke’s The Soldier as part of the soundtrack for the film, and appeared in the dramatisation of the story - Making History at
It was his interest in YouTube and how you can make yourself famous online via a computer that led to his first writing venture, Upload, scenes from which
were produced onstage at the Edinburgh Fringe in 2014 as part of English
Cabaret Hour. The three characters, all YouTubers, were played by Robert
himself, and he made an accompanying short film. In 2016 he followed this up with You're making me look good, Cortana - a film about a characters relationship with his mobile, once more at the Edinburgh Fringe.
In July 2016 he will make these stories into short films for YouTube release.
In 2015 and early 2016 he has been honing his editing skills creating three libraries for English Cabaret. a woman, a piano's Word and Pictures library sets Lily's pictures to Casson's songs. The English Cabaret Vlog of 2015 told the story of the Big Year for Freedom, and of English Cabaret's return to Edinburgh. Finally he has shot and edited the English Singing Baker's monthly bake in 2016.
